Sri Sri Ved vyas ji was a great sage of time & era that elaborate the truth of life on the planet. He was son of satyavati & earns his name as ved vyas by splitting the ancient books Vedas in to 18 streams of wisdom so called Purana. These purana's though written thousands of year ago but relates the life of present scenario in every aspect.
He was a great sage, more than that, he was all time visionary on the subject of life on its varying spheres. He elaborate the life on the subject of truth, he elaborate the truth of life on the subject of illusion, he elaborate illusion at its varying pace for life in different modules to attain the basic motto of being human.

ब्रह्मर्षि वशिष्ठ के पौत्र महर्षि पराशरके अंश से कैवर्तराज की पोष्य पुत्री सत्यवती के गर्भ द्वारा महर्षि व्यास के रूप में अवतरित हुए-श्यामवर्ण का शरीर-जन्म लेते ही इन्होंने अपनी माता से जंगल में जाकर तपस्या करने की इच्छा प्रकट की-ये तप करने के लिए हिमालय चले गए और वहाँ नर-नारायण की साधनास्थलीबदरी वन में तपस्या की-वह बादरायण नाम से प्रसिद्धि हो गई।
वेद भारतीय संस्कृति के प्राण हैं। भारतीय धर्म, दर्शन, अध्यात्म, आचार-विचार, रीति-नीति, विज्ञान-कला आदि सभी कुछ वेद से ही अनुप्राणित है। हमारे जीवन और साहित्य की ऐसी विधा है, जो स्वयं में परिपूर्ण है सही मायनों में वेद हमारी सभ्यता की आधार भूमि है
श्रीव्यासदेव चतुर्मुख न होते हुए भी ब्रह्मा, दो भुजाओं वाले होते हुए भी दूसरे विष्णु तथा त्रिनेत्रधारी न होने पर भी साक्षात् शिव समान ही हैं
ऐसे अवतारी महापुरुष का अवतरण दिवस सबके लिए गुरु पूर्णिमा के रूप में महापर्व बन गया है।
